Nova Scotia Welcomes Scouts From Around The World At Scotiajamb

Scouting youth will join in the adventure July 11-17.

Halifax, NS – July 10, 2015 – Scouts Canada’s Nova Scotia Council is hosting the 2015 edition of Scotiajamb this summer at Camp Nedooae, located just outside of Halifax, from July 11th-17th

Scotiajamb – short for Nova Scotia Jamboree – is part of a long-standing tradition in Scouting where youth gather to celebrate the shared experience and adventures that the Scouting Movement offers around the world. The weeklong camp attracts youth and volunteers from across Canada and internationally from Australia, the UK and the United States. This year over 1000 people are expected to attend.

The theme, East Coast Exploration, showcases some of Nova Scotia’s best outdoor adventures and includes programs such as canoeing, climbing and bubble soccer. Participants will also take daytrips off-site where they will experience zip lining and mountain biking, enjoy Halifax’s beautiful waterfront and more.

Each night, the participants will gather to enjoy traditional camp activities such as, campfires, talent shows and badge trading. The event will wrap up on July 17th with closing ceremonies and a special musical guest.
